1st anniversary
On July 10th, 2004 Olga and I were married, and we recently celebrated our first anniversary. We went to LakeView Point in Burgin KY, a quaint little bed and breakfast near Lake Herrington. All in all, it is a very nice place, with plenty of activities within walking distance. Shaker Village is only a 5 minute drive, so that is an option as well. We didn't take a whole lot of pictures, but the ones that did turn out I have added to my Flickr photostream.
The house itself has a swimming pool, jacuzzi, and a game room with billiards, darts, etc. The room we stayed in is called The View, and is aptly named, as it overlooks the lake and surrounding area. It has a fireplace, deck with an awning, mini-fridge, coffee maker, private bathroom, king-sized bed, and an assortment of DVDs in case you just want to veg-out and watch a movie.
Down on the shore of Lake Herrington there are several private boat docks, and a few marinas at which you can rent a pontoon for the day. We did not rent one ourselves, as $70.00 per day is a bit pricey, but I could see this being a fun activity if you had a larger group of people to help with the cost.
The breakfast was great. I pigged out on bacon, sausage, eggs, cinnamon rolls, and buttermilk biscuits. Before leaving, we were given several coupons for 50% off our next stay, as well as 10% off per night on an extended visit. If anyone is in the Lexington, Kentucky area and would like one, just let me know and I'll hook you up.
