Redirect IE6
Man, having a kid keeps one busy. It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged, but something has been ruminating in my brain recently that I thought I would try out on ye ol’ intarwebs. What got me thinking was this post by Dan Cedarholm.
Serving an unstyled version of a site is all well and good, except it doesn’t let the IE6 user know how to remedy the problem.
Hudson Wayne Smith
I hope that everyone had a good Christmas, and is enjoying the new year thus far. Personally, I must say that this season will be one for the books, because my wife and I welcomed the first addition into our family. Hudson Wayne Smith was born on December 29th, 2008 at 8:48 AM. He weighed 7 lbs, 5 oz. He is 19” tall. He is ½ Russian, ¼ Japanese, ¼ Scotch Canadian.
Fellowship (of the) Tech
Today marks one week at my new job, as a User Experience Developer at Fellowship Technologies. A few weeks ago, a third party recruiter from the Rowland Group named Jessica Wilson contacted me on their behalf, asking if I’d be interested in a faith based organization in the DFW area. Initially, I was skeptical because many IT recruiters can’t tell Java from JavaScript, but she seemed well versed in the subject matter, so I decided it might be worth looking into.
Time To Drop IE6
Feeling inspired by Dan Rubin’s recent post, entitled The Final Word on IE6, I just finished writing this email to coworkers, reiterating why I think it’s time to drop support for Internet Explorer 6. Realistically, we have already stopped doing anything with IE6 in mind, we’re just talking through making it our “official” stance not to support it.
Sumo Sultan
You may recall that some time ago, two years ago this month actually, I wrote up a product review of the Omni bean bag chair. The very first comment on that post asked: “Do they come in x-large?” I am happy to say that yes, Sumo makes an extra large model. It is called the Sultan, and I was recently provided one to review. Over the past years, the Omni has become one of my favorite lounging places.
