I just returned from the Microsoft MIX conference in Las Vegas.
2010 Conferences
I had initially thought this year would be a bit slower for conferences. I hadn’t planned on pursuing as many speaking engagements, and was going to taper back on attending various events as well. Despite that, circumstances seem to have materialized that have allowed for two additional speaking gigs, and an extra attendee badge. As an excuse to blog, I figured I ought to mention them.
Speaking - Fall 08
This fall is shaping up to include a whirlwind of speaking engagements. I figured I should do a bit of shameless self promotion and make mention of them here.
Echo Conference

Echo Conference
I am posting this on behalf of my friends at Igniter Media. They were kind enough to put me on the roster as a speaker for their upcoming conference, so I figure the least I can do is let people know about it. Along with my friend Christian Bradford, I will be teaching a breakout session entitled Triple Code Crunch, covering the essentials of HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
Gospelcon 2006
Well, I suppose it is official now, because the new website has gone live. I will be a speaker at this year’s Gospelcon, the Internet ministry conference put on by Gospel Communications, the driving force behind BibleGateway.com, among other things. The conference is a tad on the pricey side, but there will be a myriad of technological and theological topics covered by a number speakers, most of which more knowledgeable and eloquent than I.
SXSW, Recap
Well, I have made it safely from Austin back to good ol’ Boise. I had a great time, and got to meet all the guys / gals at our Godbit dinner. I just wanted to summarize the last few days spent at SXSW Interactive. I wanted to highlight a few of my other favorite panels / sessions, that I didn’t really have enough time to talk about at length in my previous post. I’ll keep this brief, because there are already so many others blogging their Austin experiences.

SXSW, Halfway
Well, I’ve survived the first half of South by Southwest. I have been to a lot of great sessions and met quite a few even more phenomenal people. I just managed to find a spare, albeit wobbly table, so I decided to break out my laptop and mouse (I can’t stand touchpads). I’ll attempt to briefly summarize some of my more favorite panels, discussions and experiences thus far…

Jeremy Keith did a great job with this lecture. He has such an easy to listen to and conversational teaching style.
Austin, Here I Come
Butterflies
I am pretty excited. In just a few days, I will be boarding a plane bound for Austin, Texas to attend the famed South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive conference. It will be me, a coworker and another Nathan representing the Boise crowd. Despite the widespread common misconception, not all people in Idaho are of the ignorant Napoleon Dynamite variety.

Well, I did it. I logged on to Alaska Air’s website (which sucks), and bought my tickets, then hopped over to the South by Southwest site and booked my badge for the Interactive Festival. I will be traveling with a co-worker and am looking foward to hearing all the great speakers, as well as meeting all the people that will be there from the 9rules Network.
